Ajuga reptans 'Purple Brocade'

'Purple Brocade' has deep purple brocaded foliage and blue flowers on short spikes through spring. Spreading slower than other ajugas, it can be planted safely in smaller areas.

Ajuga, commonly known as bugleweed, is valued as a fast, low-growing groundcover for shady areas, with glossy, often burgundy-tinged matting foliage and lovely spires of blooms in blue, purple or white in spring. Native to moist woodlands and meadows of Europe, it is a highly tolerant, adaptable plant, spreading quickly by underground stolons. Perfect under trees or other difficult sites.
