Dahlia Decorative & Shogun Types Decorative Dahlias add a burst of color and life to your late summer garden. Excellent as cut flowers these spectacular bloomers will flower almost into October. Hardy in zones 8-11. Shogun Shogun Dahlias are a fairly new strain of Dahlias. They were first introduced in Holland during the 1992 Floriade World Flower Exhibition where they won several medals of honor. They originated in Japan and the key characteristics are the unusual clear markings of color in their petals. The blooms are 4" across and make excellent cut flowers.
