Heirloom Geophytes

What was old is new again

Given gardening history, many varieties of bulbs and flowers can actually be considered heirlooms, classics, antique or family "pass along" plants. In colonial days, Geophytes were looked at as a source of food and medicine. Later in the Industrial/ Victorian age bulbs were often collected in the name of science. Through the 20th century till now there has been emphasis on planting Geophytes for the sake of the environment, a preservation of native plants. Heirloom bulbs have proved themselves to the best of best for disease resistance and flower ability. These are our top 10 selections.
