Shipping Big Plants

The packing and or loading of big plants to go a few miles or a few thousand miles is no easy task. For regional orders near the source of the plants, loading and shipping may be done at no charge. Shipments requiring more than a day or so in transit or requiring protection from other cargo will have fees associated with order. Customers assume responsibility to have proper off loading equipment on site, unless we have written crane or planting charges into the sales contract. Delivery is also only the curb side or as close to your site that road allows, anything beyond that is our option.

We split the palm into two sections, the yard has an	uphill, narrow gate. This allowed a large palm to be
planted in a cost effective manner. The proud owner	trimming up her new palm, love at first the clipping.
Date palms will require a crane on the job site to unload the palms. Crane charges are not included in plant costs. All crane billings are done in the buyers name. Use your time wisely.	Medium to large Olive trees ship 3 to 8 per trailer, these are prepared for delivery in California only, at no extra charge, out of State shipments would require a lot more packing.
We can also put your favorite plants on pallets and send them out on freight trucks. Labor is $28.00 per hour plus materials. Unless the labor and materials are written into your sales contract, expect a reasonable time and materials bill.	These are very cold hardy bamboos being shipping to Colorado. We had to trim 6 feet off the top to fit into the trailer. The could have been packed horizontally at full length for a lot more.
A trailer load of Queen Queen palms and Giant Birds of Paradise. This was a close, the customer said they had the equipment to offload the trailer. Please note 4 guys and a pickup is not "the right equipment." I almost had to call in a crane on short notice, very hard and a lot of extra costs.	These are 48" boxed Queen Palms, quite heavy, one nearly crushed this truck into a "smashed can."  Please understand if we tell you a crane is needed, it is needed, sometimes a heavy duty loader can off load some of the plants. Delivery is also only the curb side, anything beyond that is our option.

This customer needed 15, 20 foot tall Italian cypress in Las Vegas for planting on Saturday (12-29-07), yes in that heavy holiday period) morning.

We got the order Thursday (12-27-07), just 48 hours before. No problem, with a large fleet of trucks at our disposal and a huge selection of trees to choose from we ha 15 of these Cypress, 2 large pears and 4 large Bay laurel there Saturday at 6 am.
