Fly & Flea Rx
- is a bio control product that is composed of single species of beneficial
nematode. It is applied to moist soil or manure. It very effective and long
lasting, up to 3 to 4 months in most circumstances. Fly
& Flea Rx attacks the eggs, larva, pupae of
Flies and Fleas in the moist soil or manure. This product is ideal for a person
with dogs and cats that wants effective and long lasting control of fleas with
the added control of filth flies. Superior fly control is also achieved when
combined with the Fly Destroyer. The Soil

should always be very fresh to maintain their high quality and vitality. When
picked up at your garden center they should have been refrigerated.

Use before the expiration date.
DO NOT FREEZE - you will kill them, you may refrigerate them for a few days
before you use them.
DO NOT EXPOSE TO HEAT - you will “cook” them. Soil
Pest Rx Beneficial Nematodes on sponges cannot take
the heat for more than a few hours. Do not leave packages exposed to direct heat
above 85 degrees F.
DO NOT EXPOSE TO SUNLIGHT - it will sterilize them within minutes and kill them
shortly there after.
REMEMBER TO WATER - you need to drench the soil in the area you are applying Soil
Pest Rx Beneficial Nematodes. Contact with dry
surfaces may kill them. They are creatures that depend on moisture to help them
move through the soil to search out and kill the pests that are causing problems
to your plants.
ALWAYS USE THE ENTIRE PACKAGE - once the seal is broken it would be difficult to
maintain the product quality and its effectiveness.
HOW MANY TO USE ? - the established and proven science regarding the use of
beneficial nematodes for pest control continues to conclusively show that in
most circumstances you need to apply 15,000 (Flea control).
Do not be fooled by suggested rates on any competing brand labels that suggest
1,000,000 per 1,000 to 3,000 square feet. Such claims cannot be supported by any
of the current credible scientific evidence developed & gathered through
research at leading universities and nematode producers.
How Do I Apply the Fly & Flea Rx ?
Soil Pest Rx Application
1) Prepare to make your application
in the early morning or late afternoon, strong sunlight will sterilize or kill
them.
2) Do not apply to dry soils or dry grass. It is best to wet the area to be
treated for a few minutes and then make your application.
3) Remember the minimum amount you want is 15,000 (Fleas) to 20,000 (Cutworms & Grubs) per square feet, in most circumstances. If in doubt then measure the area to be applied to make sure you have at least the minimum amount required to get effective control of your pest problem.
4) Fill your Applied Bio Pest, Ortho or Gillmore sprayer with un-softened water to halfway mark. Remove the package Soil Pest Rx from your cooler or refrigerator and place them into the hose end sprayer or tank sprayer you will use to make the application. Secure the lid tightly and shake for a minute or so. Then fill to “full level” mark on the sprayer. Let the applicator sit for 15 to 20 minutes, OUT OF SUNLIGHT.
MAKE SURE THE FILTER SCREEN IS
REMOVED FROM THE STEM OF SPRAYER
5) After that and prior to the application turn on your
sprinkler system and apply up to 1/2 inch of water. For most systems this is
about 5 to 10 minutes. DRY & HOT SURFACES WILL RESULT IN THE DEATH OF Soil
Pest Rx .
6) When using a Ortho dial sprayers put the setting on 2 1/2. When using a
Gillmore sprayer set the dial to number #5. Then attach to a hose and apply Soil
Pest Rx . After completing the
first coverage pass repeat process until the area you want to treat has been
properly covered.
7) There may be some Soil Pest Rx
solution still left in the applicator so fill the
unit halfway up and reapply the remaining solution to the treated areas. If you
are using sponge packed Soil Pest Rx
. Remove the sponge from the applicator and
dispose of it in the garbage
8) After completion of the application turn on your sprinkler system and apply
1/2 to 1 inch of water. For most sprinkler systems this is about 10 to 15
minutes. You now done soil pest control for the next 4 to 6 months for most mild
or temperate regions and the whole growing season for colder climates.
