While hydroponic production many times offers the most ideal plant production, it can lead to serious root disease problems. In healthy garden soil there are many species of beneficial bacteria and organisms that can fight off root pathogens. There is very little, if any at all in the hydroponic production process.

For the most ideal plant and harvest quality you need to be proactive or working to be preventing root disease and root pests.
