Blueberry Hill Floribunda Rose

Oh! Daddy-O! For those who might have lost their thrill, this lilac Floribunda could fill the bill.  But it's not just the flower that'll steal your heart, the sweet perfume smells like apple tart.  And the clean glossy foliage is oh so green, but you won't see it much cause the blossoms make a screen.

Floribunda Rose 'Blueberry Hill'

Bloom Size: Large; Semi Double
Petal Count: 12 to 15
Fragrance: Sweet Apple
Hybridizer: Carruth - 1997

Blueberry Hill (Floribunda)
(cv. WEKcryplag)

Clear, lasting lilac.

Blueberry Hill may come from its unique and interesting lilac color, but the bonus of this lovely rose comes from its sweet apple fragrance. Large semi double blooms smother the bush in color like a rhodedendron in spring. A medium sized rounded bush, this Floribunda works well in both borders and as a bedding plant.

Floribunda means "abundance of flowers". Formally known as Cluster Flowered Roses, they are one of the more recently invented roses and have been developed by crossing certain Polyanthas with Hybrid Teas (and other rose species), in order to produce roses providing masses of color over a long season. Usually taller than Polyanthas and with larger flowers in huge upright trusses, the Floribundas are easier to grow and usually have greater disease resistance than the Hybrid Teas. The perfect Floribunda will have received its fragrance from its Hybrid Tea parents while its hardiness and fullness of bloom come from the Polyantha side of the family.
