Topaz Jewel Miniature Rose
 |
Topaz
Jewel is one of only a couple of yellow Rugosa roses. Bred by the master
of Miniature roses, Ralph Moore, this is a great introduction to the
class, most welcome for its strong yellow color and shrubby habit.

USDA zones 5 to 8, zone 4 in a protected
location.
4 to 5 feet tall, depending on climate.
Fairly strong sweet scent, with Clove overtone |
Yellow is a rare
color in the rugosa class and this fine example was hybridized by crossing a
yellow miniature (Golden Angel) with the rugosa Belle Poitevine.
Deep yellow buds open to a softer lemon hue which fades to cream. The bush is
shrubby and grows to a height of 4-5 foot. Unlike most rugosas, it
does not produce rose hips.
