Midnight Blue Shrub Rose 2005, New from Weeks Roses Medium sized shrub rose with masses of deep velvety purple blossoms that pack a powerful spicy clove fragrance. The blossoms have up to 20 petals and the plant has excellence disease resistance. I must say, when I first got a look at this plant I thought it was a junk plant. Clearly that grower was not watering enough. Midnight Blue responds very well to cool temperatures and a lot of water and fertilizer. While some roses get by on low water and even some neglect, even respond well to it, this one does not. If you want a dark purple rose patch or hedge and can spend a few minutes each week feeding and watering this plant, you will be rewarded with a real show.
