Growquest Shipping Info & Packing Costs

All items are subject to surcharges from Fed Ex, UPS or other carriers. These are large boxes with special construction to make sure that the plants arrive in good shape. If the plant do not arrive in good shape you need to take a picture of the plant, package and send an email right away. The cheapest way to get your fruit tree sent to you is to have arrive at business location. 

#15 and 24" boxed potted trees are large and heavy. They can only be shipped via us in California or via Line Haul LTL trucking out of State. These trees are huge and worth the expense but expect that shipping cost will be about $75.00 for the first tree and $35.00 for each additional tree.

Our own delivery charges in California are a minimum of $25.00 and can range to $155.00 for the total order for basic sized plants #1 through #15's. Delivery charges in Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington  are minimum of $125.00 and can range to $550.00 or more for larger orders. Boxed plant delivery charges vary according to the dynamics of the order and location of where it is going. Delivery of all plants is curbside only. Crane charges are the responsibility of the buyer. Standby time is $85.00 an hour for truck time and $32.00 per man hour.  

Costs of shipping plants can vary by several dollars depending upon weather, current potting soil mixes used. You are billed the cost of your freight plus the cost of packing your order. Packing costs are fixed, freight costs are subject to the final bill from the carrier that brought your plants or merchandise to you.

We typically ship fruit trees Monday through Friday. We can ship "urgent orders" right away if requested. 

Potted fruit trees typically cannot travel "Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air." The plants we ship are large 5 gallon filled out bushes and trees. The boxes range in height from 3 feet to 6 feet and would cost upwards of $150.00 to $200.00 to send Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air.

Customers located in the Western USA will get their shipments typically within 3 days from a week day shipping date. California and Nevada orders usually arrive next day. 

Damaged Orders - All plants are presumed to leave from us in excellent condition. Cargo companies do not pay us when the shipment is damaged, they just simply tell us that it was not packed right or they do not insure perishable products. Part of your shipping charge has a premium in it to insure the safe arrival of your plant.

In the event that your plant arrives damaged and not to your satisfaction, you need to contact us within 48 hours to let us know there is a problem. We will then agree to replace it right away or note it for the record and replace the plant should it not improve in health and appearance. If you think your plant needs to be replaced then you need to take a picture of it with the newspaper from the day, or day with in the past week.

Should your plant not arrive in good condition you agree that wait a new plant can be prepared for shipment and until weather allows for its safe travel to you.

We have already invested in the cost of getting the first plant to you and would like the option of losing a little money instead of losing a lot by reshipping you. 

Credit card refunds, in purchasing your Citrus, Avocado or Subtropical fruit tree you agree not to file for a refund or charge back with your credit card company over damaged plants or shipping charges, without first giving us 10 days written notice.  Written notice shall be by certified mail, e-mail or confirmed fax.

Severe weather can hamper shipping. Both in our area and yours. Check Accuweather for current and projected conditions in our area, 93060 and your area. Questions on bad weather shipping? Check the cold months in your area, December, January & February are crucial.

General Basic Shipping Charges -

Potted plant shipping charges are not included in the check out process. Potted plants include potted roses, citrus and avocado trees. All plant purchases are made and shipped FOB Ventura, CA. See current standard rate charts. We can deal on larger orders.

We use several different companies to move our cargo. In an perfect "shopping cart world" we would have rates pop up for every circumstance for all of the garden products we sell and the zip codes they go to. Since there are just too many variables and we only want to get back what it costs us to pack and ship you the product, we may need to get in touch with you for your specific freight charges. 

When you place an order with us you are agreeing to make us responsible for getting your order to you in the quickest most cost effective way possible. You are agreeing to pay for that the cost of packing and shipping those items and that that cost is reflected in the sections where you shopped for your goods. Each plant section, roses, citrus and avocado have the estimated cost of shipping those plants to you. Large plants require large boxes and a thoughtful effort in packing them.

 

Most of these plants cannot be shipped to POST OFFICE BOXES, as the cost is very high.
